New technologies, products and services assist us as our membership grows stronger and more active. Vital to our success as a Chapter, as well as to our individual firms, is the involvement of the vendors, which, over the course of many years, has been both reassuring and a true benefit to each of us. We look forward to maintaining past relationships and forging new ones. By partnering with the Chapter, vendors and Chapter members have the opportunity to develop strong and lasting relationships. Certainly our ability to succeed as a Chapter, and in each of our individual firms, is enhanced by your support.
Although our relationships are business assets to
both our vendor partners and our members, they are also a source of networking
and fun.
The Wichita Area Chapter Association of Legal Administrators held their
bi-annual vendor event on January 15, 2005 at the Eaton Hotel. The
vendors sponsored a Las Vegas Night, which turned out to exceed our
wildest expectations.
There was be a buffet of hot/cold
hors d’oeuvres, drinks and prizes were given away all evening long. Our
honorary co-chairs for the evening were be The Honorable David Kennedy,
Sedgwick County District Court Judge and the President of the Wichita
Bar Association, Pamela Clancy of the Woodard, Hernandez, Roth & Day law
firm. In attendance were our members, guests and friends. We
also invited the Managing Partners from our respective firms and their
spouses. The Executive Board of the Wichita Bar Association and other
firms who are not currently represented in our Chapter were also
invited.
For the first time we opened the event to
all members of the legal community, including office and support staff.
It was a smashing hit, earning our Chapter a significant
amount to be applied to our educational scholarship fund.
Over 28 vendors participated at all various levels,
and more than 200 guests were in attendance. The vendors sponsored
everything from $2,000 tables to door prizes, with the grand prize
provided by Sunflower Travel being a trip for two to Las Vegas, which
was won by none other than our very own Jackie Barnes. No one could have
deserved it more!
