    WALA WELCOMED
MANAGING PARTNERS

In keeping with her year as President, Jana Waltman brought fun and creativity to the Managing Partners luncheon held March 23.  Her interactive presentation was both informative and entertaining.  Several attorneys stated they "had no idea" WALA and ALA were so "networked" and provided so much assistance to their members."  Read more about it.

HONORING A FRIEND AND CELEBRATING HER LIFE ALA MOVES FORWARD

In January we announced that ALA President-Elect Martha J. Llano passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at her home in Valhalla, New York. She would have assumed the office of President of the international Association at ALA's Annual Conference in Montreal in May 2006.

The Board of Directors and the Nominating Committee, acting  under the Association's Bylaws, to assure continuity and strength in Association leadership has asked Richard Nigon, CLM, to fill Ms. Llano's unexpired term as President-Elect of the Association, and to become ALA President for 2006-2007.  He was installed at the Annual Conference in Montréal.  A very nice tribute to Ms. Llano was also a part of this year's ceremony.
