The Chapter partners with the Wichita Bar Association (WBA) by serving on its committees and making occasional presentations regarding law office administration matters. In addition, our organization sells the advertising slots in the Bar-o-Meter on behalf of the WBA.
Bar-O-Meter — Publishes a monthly magazine as a vehicle for communication between members of the Bar and promotes collegiality among the legal community. Members: June E. Huie, Fleeson, Gooing, Coulson & Kitch, L.L.C., Staff Writer and Advertising Coordinator.
Law in Education — Provides schools with law related information and speakers and assists schools in celebrating Law Day and the ideals of justice under laws. Members: Janie Jacobs, Morris, Laing, Evans, Brock & Kennedy, Chtd., and Jana Waltman, Gilliland & Hayes, P.A.
Public Relations — Generates programs to improve the public image of the legal profession; responds to issues of public concern; publicizes the projects of other committees; and plans, develops and implements a comprehensive program for the celebration of Law Day throughout the city and in the schools. Members: Cindy Rush, Bever Dye L.C.
Summer Intern — Creates summer employment in law offices, providing high school students an opportunity to learn about the business and legal system.
